DESCRIPTION

OLD TOWN OF BUDVA

As a city that preserved a typical medieval look, Budva represents a unique architectural and urban complex. The city represents a settlement, surrounded by a fortification wall, with bastions on corners and a citadel that rises on the southwest side, i.e. towards the sea.

ENTRANCE TO THE OLD TOWN

You can enter the Old Town through several gates. Above the Main gate or the Porta di Terra Ferma (Gate of the firm ground) there is the old coat of arms of Budva, where the venetian lion is depicted, representing the centuries-old power of the Venetian Republic over this city.

In Budva there are two main streets - Njegoseva and Petar I Petrovic Street, and they meet at the main square. There is also a famous Poet's square, where literary evenings are held during the summer months, where famous domestic and foreign poets and writers speak their verses.

Walk through the streets of the Old Town will provide each visitor a unique experience, where everyone can find a corner for themselves in various galleries, restaurants, bars, where the scent of the sea interacts with the sounds of music.

CITADEL

From the walls of the former shelter of the locals of Budva, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the city and the marina. From here you can see the symbol of the city of Budva, a relief of two fish. The legend says that two young people who were banned from love, jumped into the sea and thus turned into fishes.

TOWN WALLS

The town walls are 1 km long. You can stroll their whole length and enjoy a magnificent view of both the city and the surrounding beaches.
